I agree.  A Guile interface would be really cool. If nothing else, it
could be used for our automated tests in a much simpler way than what
we currently do.

On the down side, how stable is Guile these days?  One other project I
work on, which has a small Guile interface worked fine with 1.6, but
promptly crashed as soon as the project was built with 1.8
