     Now the distinction is basically gone with the latest set of
     commits.  The files and code that you attached were quite useful,
     too.

Great.  

I think there are a few commits in master which are not in value-rep.
I suggest that we merge master into value-rep, play with value-rep for a
few days, then merge value-rep back into master.
