In fact, these have been implemented for some years now, so another possibility 
is that Terence is
using a very old version of PSPP.   Alternatively, it could be simply that he 
is using it wrong.
A third possibility is that he has discovered an unusual bug which manifests 
itself only under
the particular circumstances in which he is using it.

Sadly he hasn't given us an example, nor has he said which version he is using. 
 So we don't know.
