Dear Britanni,

PSPP can do GLM analysis: An experimental module was implemented in former versions of PSPP's GUI (Windows version) and only showed up when data was available. Now (PSPP 0.10.0) it is "fully" implemented in the GUI and the "warning" label doesn't appear anymore. I compared the results of a 3x2 ANOVA done with another statistics software with the results of PSPP GLM. The results were identical. This is not a thorough test of PSPP GLM, of course, but it indicates that the module seems to work properly.

Another topic is ANCOVA: As far as I know PSPP GML does not support ANCOVA, at least not in the GUI (Windows version), but you could calculate an ANCOVA by using linear regression analysis which is already implemented in PSPP. ANCOVA is only a special variant of a linear regression analysis: Transform your IVs into sets of dummy variables (one set per IV), put all of them (minus 1 per set) into a regression analysis, add your covariates and do not include interaction effects. This is ANCOVA.

I would use one of the versions of the manual here:

PSPP has capabilities, like GLM, that the graphical interface doesn't
express (this is also true of SPSS; for example, one cannot access
MANOVA from the GUI). But you can use syntax to perform a GLM analysis,
as described here:

The GLM command doesn't have any explicit support for ANCOVA and I've
never used GLM to perform the analysis, but these links suggest that
you're correct that it's possible:

Let us know if you have difficulty or questions using the syntax for
your analysis.  If you do have problems, please identify the platform
(Windows, MacOS, etc.) and version (from Help > About) that you are
using.  PSPP just releases a new version, 0.10.0, but aside from various
small improvements, I don't think it affects what you are doing.
