Hi Stacy

I tested the export in my MSWindows build and it works when the export from the GUI is used. (File | Export)  I get the whole output in a text file.

EXPORT OUTFILE='O:\2016 Jobs\305616\tabulation\305616layout.txt'

Gives an error in the output window. /TYPE=TXT is not possible. Besides I don't think this is the command you are looking for.

PRINT OUTFILE='O:\2016 Jobs\305616\tabulation\305616layout.txt'

Gives no error in the output window and an empty file. I would say that is a bug.

PRINT OUTFILE='O:\2016 Jobs\305616\tabulation\305616layout.txt'  TABLE /ALL.

Gives output in the output window and an empty file. I would say that is a bug.

Have fun

It creates the text file, but there is nothing in the file when I open it.

In my .sps file, the "export" command and the "print" command creates the
blank text file. I've copied in the section below. There is more code above
this section, but I don't think it's relative to this problem. The output
viewer does not show any errors.
The "write outfile" command works. It produces the .dat file with data in

************************************** BEGIN DATA FILE SAVE

 /KEEP  resp_num TO q19.e.

WRITE OUTFILE='O:\2016 Jobs\305616\tabulation\305616.dat'

EXPORT OUTFILE='O:\2016 Jobs\305616\tabulation\305616layout.txt'

**PRINT OUTFILE='O:\2016 Jobs\305616\tabulation\305616layout.txt'

**************************************** END DATA FILE SAVE

It is strange that the export feature doesn't work here.  Does it work at
all (in any other context)?

However if you want to write directly to a text file, and have a .sps to
hand, you can do it from the command line:

  pspp -o myfile.txt some-input-file.sps

I hope this helps.
