Hi Tom,

I have not ran the linux ppc version. But the x86 behavior should be identical regardless of the host (at least I would think so - there is always a possibility that interrupts could be causing problems??).

The full trace comparison between ppc/darwin and x86 hosts show identical initial conditions and identical x86 machine code through multiple blocks of code translation. Eventually a point is reached where the simulated x86 state / register values do not match identically for the same block of code. After this point, the code blocks being translated begin to differ and rather quickly, the darwin/ppc port crashes.

I have been trying to examine the machine code to understand the different initial and final conditions in the suspect block of code, but am having trouble figuring out exactly how the translated code interacts with the simulated x86 registers and state. I need to spend a bit more time with the code, apparently.

However, I am encouraged by how far the OS X port goes. Kudos to Pierre d'Herbemont for the initial darwin port and Fabrice for such a great tool.

Have you ran the Linux ppc version to see what it gives?
