Hmm, I couldnt get serial console to work though. (not with Linux 
with solaris).

Qemu seems to hang on me if started with -serial stdio or -nographics 
(which also uses stdio AIUI).

Monitor as in a stdio '(qemu) ' monitor prompt, or ....?
