In case with "Omu" you mean QEMU, you really have no idea what you're talking about. Especially the move of Apple to Intel has greatly increased the demand for emulation or virtualization tools there. Lots of people change from Intel PC to Intel Mac and still want to run Windows apps without the need to reboot via Boot Camp - that's where Q/ QEMU, Parallel, VMware etc. come handy on the Mac.

There are also many other uses for emulation or virtualization in fields you may not be comfortable with. Don't be so fast throwing around words like community and new life. (QEMU was last released this month, not 2005 like PearPC.)

Have you even tried QEMU's ppc system emulation yet? How far did you get? Or do you know which hardware exactly needs to be emulated? Running Linux in qemu-system-ppc does not work for me ATM but maybe you have more luck.
