Maybe this is related: network install of OpenBSD 3.9 to 4.4 for Sparc
always stalls at 80% for the first file, no matter if I use SLIRP or
TAP. Sparc always uses pcnet. Haven't tested 4.5. This doesn't happen
with Linux guests.
It looks like any network use on Sparc crashes QEMU at the moment.
