Please find two patches. Both are big so maybe best to only add to the post 1.1 
branches.

The first patch tries to be more intelligent when setting up the fd events and 
only call these functions if something has changed.

The second patch adds support for passthrough of SCSI comamnds. Just like 
/dev/sg allows the guest to talk to a real scsi device directly without qemu 
emulating the commands,  this patch adds the same capability when using iscsi 
devices.
With this patch the guest can talk directly to the target iscsi devices.
