Or just a little older. Packaging dtc + libfdt is a pretty recent
thing, many not-that-recent distros don't have it.
The libfdt installed on the rhel6 build bots didn't came with the distro
for example.

Find a linux distro which is younger than 10 years and doesn't include glib.
Try the same with libfdt, then compare the results ...
