Should this be "xlnx'? I was trying to standardise on xlnx for new
code, as that is the vendor name for device tree compatible strings.
This should match the compatible string of the device tree.

You have overloaded the term depth as both the capacity and the
occupancy. Probaby best to rename this as depth usually indicates
capacity and "num_used", "num_free", "entires", can be used for
occupancy.
I think most of the trailing comments can be removed.

New device models should follow the modern convention of the state
