First thing to say is I tested this locally and it fixes the
problem seen in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1999700.
I will also add this patch to Fedora soon.  So:

But my question is, does this mean that every time a new CPU feature
appears we must remember to update this code?
