Follow-up Comment #5, bug #58785 (project reproduce):
Good to hear that '--host-cc' worked. Of course, its not a fix to this bug
but, it allows the project to continue for now.
A problematic C compiler on the host is really something Maneage can't
control. So I am not sure if we should keep this bug open or if we should
close it. It may get fixed once we build the GNU C Library (task #15390).
I didn't precisely understand the "Task/usability bug". We do currently print
a warning at configure time (see Line 517 of configure.sh
<http://git.maneage.org/project.git/tree/reproduce/software/shell/configure.sh#n517>)
to see if 'gfortran' is present when the C compiler is not going to be built.
When 'gfortran' is present, it will be symlinked within Maneage (in the same
rule that builds GCC in 'basic.mk'), the user doesn't have to worry about it
;-).
