Hi Matt.

To my understanding from translating the clients you'll need to install the new client on the device on which the account you want to use is present. Until now accounts have been local so existing accounts are not known to the network.

Using the new client you'll be able to export the account onto the network for a limited time (texts in the Android client says 10 minutes, 5 in the gnome client) protected by a user chosen PIN. Within the time limit you should be able to import/link any other new client to this account by providing the RingID/username and PIN.

I haven't actually tested this this myself, though. Hopefully the master key will be completely removed from the network afte the time is up. I guess they might also use the etherum network for this feature, like is mentioned is the case for the new username feature.

Good luck,
Mikkel

So, what exactly is the "Pin", and why is it not explained anywhere?

Best regards,
