A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden
Max Gilead <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Dook
System name: dook
This package does NOT want to apply for inclusion in the GNU project
Project description:
Dook is the scripting language for the Java platform.
The goals for the language are:
- small - embeddable into larger applications, core language has only
programming logic, requires extensions (see below) to perform any real tasks,
total interpreter size will be about 20-30 kilobytes
- secure - core language is unable to do any harm to the application and
system, security can be precisely fine-tuned by adding specialized extensions
(see below)
- extendable - any kind of i/o for Dook scripts (including disk, network,
terminal and GUI access) has to be explicitly enabled by adding language
extensions. Extensions are very easy to write.
- simple - extremely simple syntax which is designed to help learn language
also for non-programmers (application end-users).
Current status:
Dook language interpreter is implemented 100%, I am now working on improvements
to the interpreter, documentation, tutorial, writing more standard extensions
etc. First release expected in 2-3 weeks.
Availability:
It\'s not available anywhere right now because I don\'t want to release it
unfinished (no, it\'s too small to be a cooperative project :-).
