Karl Ran <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Free AVR ICE
System name: freeice
Type: non-GNU
Description:
This project is about creating a free interface
between Linux and Atmel-Mega micro controllers.
This software will make it possible to debug(with gdb)
code(compiled with gcc) in the target(a Mega-AVR).
Right now only a none-free solution exists for the Windoze world.
One part of the code will run on Linux, the other part on a AVR-micro.
Both parts will communicat over a RS232 link.
The first step in this project is to create a open JTAG-analyser!
It does not exist yet but we are working on it.
Other Software Required:
gnu tool chain(for avr)
Other Comments:
There is a ongoing discussion on address@hidden
