This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden

Mathias Kettner <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License: For each game hosted you must send an email to an address which
will be announced in the software. This mail
must contain the location of the server (State/City),
the number of players, the language the game is played
with (currently German or English), the software version
of prometheus and the name of the person hosting the game.

You don\'t need to send emails for inhouse games.
An inhouse game is a game where all players use the same
computer or a local network to play and where no emails
nor postal mails are being sent with turn sheets or printouts.

Note: If you have sent the mail you can go on hosting
the game. You don\'t have to wait for an answer. The
mail is not intended for asking permission, just for
me to keep some statistical information. Your name will
not be published.

Package: Prometheus PBEMl game by Mathias Kettner
System name: prometheus
Type: non-GNU

Description:
This project is about a play bymail/email game called once \"Prometheus\". The
game is fully functional and has be run commerciallyin Germany for several
years (being closed source to that time).Later on the game program as well as
the rule book has been translatedinto English, so Prometheus can be played
German and English (thoughnot in the same game).Since the chances of earning
money with a PBEM game is almost zero,I decided to make the programm open
source. The game also containsa bunch of images, which are copyrighted by a
friend of mine, whostill has to agree to make also those images open source. The
game is written in C . It produces HTML or PostScript outputto be sent either
via email or plain mail. The game is a \"build your civilization from stone age
to modern timesand try to rule the world\" game.

Other Software Required:
The game is written to be compiled on GNU/Linux. I had a windows version
based an dejagnu once, so it should be not a great problem to reactivate that
one and host the
game on Windows.

Other Comments:
The Only problem is that i have almost no time myself to furthermaintain it.
But since it already has been run in many games and there arevery few known
bugs (if any) you should be able to run it withoutany changes and host your own
games.Of course it would be nice, if somebody would like to further developand
improve the game. So I\\\\\\\'m looking also for a maintainer which is able to
programm C++ or is able to coordinate C++ programmers.
