You said that the lock still exists for your colleague while
it was ok for you? If so, the problem is definitely on the
client side and we cannot help you much. We just can tell
you to try another SSH client.

Yes, it still exists for my colleague. It seemed to work 
for about a week, after the re-checkout, but it reappeared 
again............
