A package was submitted to savannah.nongnu.org
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden
Robert Millan <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Anarchist Package System
System name: aps
Type: non-GNU
Description:
The purpose of this project is to create a package system for the GNU OS. That
system would exploit the features that the Hurd provides in order to build it
upon a consistent, modular set of interfaces.
It will follow the line marked by Richard Stallman\'s idea on using filesystems
to manage packages, and getting UnionFS to put \"install\" them. In addition,
it will include features that allow distribution of system software through the
GNUnet network.
That distribution system works in an anarchistic way. Every contributor would
be allowed to upload his/her work, then the user community would evaluate it
democraticaly so that the distribution system could use GPG and a set of
complex rules to determine wether a package can be trusted, wether its quality
is acceptable, wether it follows the free software philosophy, etc.
It does not exist yet but we\'re working on it.
Other Software Required:
the GNU Hurd
GnuPG
GNUnet
