A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden

Pavel Roskin <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License: The VFS code (Virtual filesystem) is licensed under GNU Lesser
General Public License version 2, the rest is under GNU General Public License
version 2.
Package: GNU Midnight Commander
System name: mc
Type: GNU

Description:
GNU Midnight Commander is a text-mode full-screen file manager. It uses a two
panel interface and a subshell for command execution. GNU Midnight Commander
includes an internal editor with syntax highlighting and an internal viewer
with support for binary files. Also included is Virtual Filesystem (VFS), that
allows files on remote systems (e.g. FTP servers) and files inside archives to
be manipulated like real files.

The lastest release can be downloaded from http://www.ibiblio.org/mc/

Other Software Required:
glib 1.2.x or 2.0.x required, Perl 5 and GNU bash recommended.

Other Comments:
GNU Midnight Commander was originally written by Miguel de Icaza.
It was a part of the GNOME project when a GNOME frontend (gmc) existed. Later
the GNOME frontend was removed.
Questions about the project should be sent to address@hidden if it\'s desired
to ask all developers.
The goal of registering the project on Savannah is to get access to the bug
tracking system. It is possible that the CVS repository will be moved from
cvs.gnome.org in the future.
