Ivan Vilata i Balaguer <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Leaf package finder for Debian
System name: leafpkgs
Type: non-GNU
Description:
Leafpkgs is a small utility written in Python that shows those
packages in a Debian system which no other packages depend on
(leaf packages). It helps you keep your system clean of unneeded
packages.
Leafpkgs reads the DPKG status database and shows the unneeded
package names (with a short description) on its standard output.
You can work on several dependency levels and filter the results
according to package priority or section.
With leafpkgs you can also select some specific packages to
delete, and then see which packages become leaf packages, so you
can later remove them all easily.
Please note that leafpkgs never removes a package, it only
figures out what would happen if some packages were removed.
I have developed a fully working version which uses distutils.
It is here: http://www.selidor.net/data/leafpkgs-0.6.tar.gz
Other Software Required:
* Python 2.1 or greater
* python-apt
