Evan <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: ActionDirectory
System name: actiondir
Type: non-GNU

Description:
ActionDirectory is a web based organizational directory program. It's written
in Perl and met to be run under mod_perl with apache, but also fully supports
CGI with other webservers. The project has a non-technical description at
http://actiondirectory.eggplantmedia.com. It's primary audience are NGO's and
activist organizations who are publishing information about their coalitions.

It's written in OO perl using a MVC style pattern. It uses a mysql backend to
store the directory listings and template toolkit for the templating/display
layer.

So far we've got avialable via a tarball
(http://actiondirectory.eggplantemdia.com/actiondirectory_v0.1.tar.gz) and
viewcvs (http://dev.protest.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/riotdir/) but the server it
is hosted on doesn't support anonymous cvs. One of the reasons i'm hoping to
move to savannah is to offer anonymous cvs.

Part of the future of the project is to create a network for sharing directory
information between sites. The details aren't worked out, but i hope that this
program will use rdf and the future semantic web to produce useful and rich
information about activist and civil society organizations.

Other Software Required:
ActionDirectory uses a number of perl modules from CPAN, most of which are
licensed under the Perl Artistic License.

Other Comments:
The URL's to the code and the project page are in the above description.
