I'm not really satisfied with the solution (it does not  
explains the problem), but you surely made the good 
decision, as people managing the mail server are overrun 
currently.

I think you can close this call.

I opened a new list under a new name and moved subscribers.

I set the old list status to hidden, so no activity should 

never happen on it
