Hilko Bengen <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Client Milter implementation
System name: milterclient
Type: non-GNU
Description:
This project's goal is to provide a client implementation of Sendmail's Milter
protocol, so that external mail filters can be used together with other MTAs
than Sendmail. The following interfaces to other MTAs are planned so far: (1) a
command-line tool that can be used like a delivery program (such as procmail),
(2) a simple filtering LMTP/SMTP gateway, (3) a set of patches against Exim.
The Milter API documentation is provided along with the Sendmail program, the
wire protocol has been documented by Todd Vierling and is available from
http://pmilter.sourceforge.net/
Other Software Required:
no external software, possibly some header files from Sendmail
