Marco Tizzoni <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Virtual Gateway Protocol Daemon
System name: vgpd
Type: GNU
Description:
The Virtual Gateway Protocol Daemon implements VGP, a very simple protocol able
to work in a way similar to Cisco HSRP. It implements the idea of Virtual
Gateway to provide fault tolerance (and load balancing) on the network. Each
client has as its default gateway the virtual gateway and not a real router.
Every real router on the net runs vgpd, to elect a master router on the net
that will configure itself with a virtual ip and a virtual mac.
