David A. Wheeler <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: flawfinder
System name: flawfinder
Type: non-GNU
Description:
Flawfinder is a program that examines
C/C++ source code and reports possible security weaknesses ("flaws")
sorted by risk level.
It's very useful for quickly finding and removing at least some
potential security problems before a program is widely used
by the public.
It is implemented in Python, with no other dependencies.
It has a man page as documentation.
It runs well on Unix-like systems, including GNU/Linux, *BSDs,
and Solaris. It runs on Microsoft Windows when running Cygwin.
There's no difference in capability between the platforms.
Current version available at:
http://www.dwheeler.com/flawfinder/flawfinder-1.24.tar.gz
It's a mature program, having run for several years.
Other Software Required:
Python.
