==== Description: ====
Visual Equation creates equations visually. It is expected to be user-friendly
and intuitive, combining the high-quality of LaTeX equations with no need of
knowing the language or even editing/knowing about files.
Equations can be exported to PNG, EPS, PDF and SVG.
Equations are saved into metadata of PNG and PDF so they can be recovered from
the images to continue editing.
Drag and drop support is available so you can paste easily your equations to
LibreOffice, Inkscape, etc.
The program is written in Python 3, using Qt5 (using PyQt bindings) for the
user interface and LaTeX to render the equations.
The code is currently hosted here:
https://github.com/daniel-molina/visualequation
==== Other Software Required: ====
To save info in the metadata, exiftool is used (which has the same license
than Perl)
https://sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/
The other dependencies are well-known. These are the name of the packages that
provide all the dependencies in a modern Debian-based GNU/Linux distribution:
python3-pyqt5, texlive-latex-recommended, dvipng, texlive-font-utils,
texlive-science, libimage-exiftool-perl
