Thank you!

So including a copy of the GPL in the distribution is a requirement
of the LGPL.  Giving users a copy of the license is important in order
to make they know their rights, that's why the license requires it.

Do you think including a copy of the LGPL is a requirement as well?

I'd like to point out a few things.

First, the copyright notices are secondary.  They may be outdated
(when the copyright is transferred to another person), wrong or absent,
such things don't change the actual copyright holder.   Basically,
the original copyright holders are people who make the work
unless it's work for hire (depending on the jurisdiction, that
concept may include works of students); then the copyright may be
assigned to other people or organization through some legal paperwork.

Now let us clarify what kinds of legal notices exist, and what
files should include them.  What are your ideas about that?
