Hi Mike,

Note that Savannah projects have a database field specifying
their license. You cannot change this by yourself.

If you do "Edit Public Info" on your project page, and scroll
down, you will see this:

"License changes are moderated by the site administrators.
Please contact them to change your project license."

If you just change the license in the files in your
repository, then this field will be out of date.

You shouldn't have a problem because the MIT (a.k.a. Expat)
license is a free license that is GPL-compatible.
I have two projects in Savannah which are BSD licensed.
The GPL is not a requirement.

It might take time to get a response from the admins,
though, to get this updated.
