Hi PCMan,
Is it possible to import the old mail archives from sf.net?
Yes, if you can give me archives in standard mbox format, it's easy
enough to import them.
In addition, there are quite a lot of bugs in the issue tracker.
But here, I'm afraid the answer is that no issue tracker migration tool
has ever been written (to my knowledge). If you (or anyone) wants to
tackle it, it doesn't require any savannah-administrator-level access --
you could "just" write a script to POST to savannah's tracker(s) based
on the data that you get from sourceforge. Not saying it's easy.
The one thing I'll mention in that regard is that Savannah's trackers
can be configured pretty extensively through the web interface, allowing
the creation of custom fields and values. So you don't have to feel
constrained by the defaults that you see, if that turns out to be an
issue for any migration.
If you want to pursue this, we could approve a "test" project submission
from you -- we don't usually do that, but it would only make sense in
this case.
Hope this helps,
Karl
