Details:

A similar crash fixed in 8c1b8e4521.  Here's how to reproduce
(assuming you have no screen on your system yet):

$ export SYSSCREENRC=/dev/null SCREENRC=/dev/null
$ screen
(detach from the screen by pressing ctrl+A followed by d)
$ screen
(this creates the second one; type the next command without detaching it)
$ screen -r
