Can not send command to screen with -X flag

Hello!
I start a programm from a script the following way:
  screen -dmS name ./start.sh

The screen detaches fine and the start.sh script runs smoothly.
However, using the command:
  screen -S name -X stuff "command^M"
does not come up in that screen.

IF i open the screen, and detach it again, then the command:
  screen -S name -X stuff "command^M"
works fine.

How will i have to start screen in order to send commands to it?
