let us discuss the specs of the opening page on what information should be
pulled and how it should be shown. 

we also need a design.

my suggestion is to have information that shows the activity at the
platform.

- featured courses
- most active users
- todo items, seeking voluntary support
- recent news and events
- etc.

let us discuss this in the TEG or Execom and arrive at a decision as soon as
possible, so that we begin a plan for implementation.
