Status of the SQL/aliases problem

I have the standard SA-milter-SA-SQL-Sendmail setup. I have the SQL 
scores, whitelist, required_hits, working with this setup, but if the 
RCPT_TO header is an alias to the actual user, I get

handle_user()-> unable to find user [alias]!

I have googled and googled, and tried each patch I found. I cannot get 
this resolved. Is there anyone who has this working?
