speechd and software dectalk?

I remember we improved the responsivity by mounting /tmp to ramdisk, howerver I
am not sure if this hack could still help these days.  Could someone please

Unfortunately not (as far as I know).  Does the software dectalk have some API?
 It might not be difficult to write a true output driver for it.

You can expect concrete aswers concerning the sd_generic driver from Hynek.
