CVS Still Broken

See my other post on this where I pasted in an example of the code I'm
looking at.  Yeah, I wondered what could be up with this too.  I
forget the versions at this moment but have the latest versions of
autoconf and automake from my Slackware distribution (Slackware 11.0
now).
