Question about upgrading SD

Hi all,
Well, I installed the 0.6.5 package but i want to upgrade to the 0.6.6 version. 
Since I used apt-get to install the 0.6.5 package, can I just do
./configure --prefix=/usr
make all
make install
and it will be upgraded?
Or will I also need to do a chown speech-dispatcher /var/log/speech-dispatcher  
and /var/run/speech-dispatcher speech-dispatcher?
