I'm not understanding what you are trying to do here.  If you have $HOME
in a config file, the dotconf library expands the HOME environment
variable, so it becomes /home/halim.  If I ran the same configuration on
my machine it would be /home/william.

Can you give me a better explanation of what you are trying to do?
