Hello,
I'm a student and I would like to work on Emacs XWidgets, an
experimental branch of Emacs, under the GNU umbrella. Joakim Verona is
the main developer and has agreed to mentor me for this project.
Here is an HTML snippet for the ideas page:
GNU Emacs is the extensible, customizable, self-documenting real-time
display editor.
Emacs XWidgets is an experimental branch to enable embedding GTK
widgets inside an Emacs window. For example, this permits Emacs to
render HTML pages with WebKit.
The goal of this project is to improve the current implementation by
converting C code to Elisp code and to work on
the GObjectIntrospection.
I've deliberately put the project under the Emacs section, because there
are discussions on the emacs-dev mailing list about other projects.
PS: I'm working on my proposal and I'll submit it on Melange ASAP.
