Ok, I've updated the R hdf5 plugin for hdf5-1.4.0 and built a new Windows
binary:

  ftp://ftp.swarm.org/pub/swarm/binaries/w32/latest/hdf5_0.9.zip

Note that the hdf5.dll includes the latest HDF5 (as did the last), so
don't worry about conflicts with previous Swarm installs...

Here's the current source distribution:
