I have simulated the effect of letters by making pixmaps of letters and
symbols and then drawing them on top of a raster. The heatbugs code has
an example that draws pixmaps of ants. Years ago, I made a package called
celebrity heatbugs in which I put the faces of TV stars on haeatbugs.I
think it is stil in my swarm page.
