- I want to start using Swarm-2.2-java (I used the stable version Swarm-2.2-java.zip to install),
but I am a bit worried whether I should do it.
In http://ftp.swarm.org/pub/swarm/apps/java/sdg/testing/ <http://ftp.swarm.org/pub/swarm/apps/java/sdg/testing/>
I found two of the classic examples which do fine in Swarm2.2 (jmousetrap-2001-09-13.tar.gz and
jheatbugs-2001-03-28.tar.gz). So Swarm is installed properly.
I did not find anymore examples of code ! running in
swarm2.2- java. I found contributed examples on http://ftp.swarm.org/pub/swarm/apps/java/contrib/
but when compiling the code (javac *.java) resulted in compiling errors. Why?
These examples are from previous versions, but aren't they compatible?
Maybe I am using the wrong compiler? Swarm-2.2-java uses the Ming compiler, so was written on the website. However,
I did not install the compiler, because I assumed the compiler was included in
the Swarm software. Right? But I think when I call javac, it is the jdk v ersion which is used !
