Hi,

The best would be to transcode all pdf transparency modes to the last blendmodes available in flash. It would requires wrapping shapes into MovieClip, as the blendmode applies only on them.
The draw back will be that maybe these blendmode won't look exactly the same, but it's worth trying, isn't it?

Greetings,

Raph

I know that this is a long standing issue in pdf2swf, but I don't
understand why, since other SWFTools support transparency.

I guess it depends on what kind of transparency you're talking about.
"pdf2swf -s poly2bitmap" supports pretty much all kinds of transparency
just fine- "vanilla" pdf2swf is limited to multiply and overlay based
transparency because of limits in the transcoding stack.

Thanks for your reply, Matthias.

I'm afraid I don't get it.

Do you have an example file with the particular transparency effect you're
looking for?

Vector images are one of the strengths of Flash. I'd like to avoid converting to bitmap or disabling transparencies.

But again, I didn't get your explanation above.

Thanks again for your help,

Pablo
