I hope this is the right place to post suggestions.
It is said so in: file:///usr/share/synaptic/html/index.html
My (another) suggestion for Synaptic:
While Synaptic is {
* downloading packages
* or intalling packages
* or refreshing repositories
}
, the user should be allowed to operate on the package list in (some kind of)
read-only mode.
Example: User searches for a program of a particular type; he finds one;
decides to install it; lenghty download process begins; *meanwhile* the user
would like to see whether there are other programs of the same type.
Note: One could instead launch e.g. Aptitude while Synaptic is doing Its work;
but "Synaptic is Synaptic" :-). Also: one more app == more used memory.
