There are news!

With g++-3.2.0 (as well as the 3.2.1 20020912 Debian prerelease),
building texmacs-1.0.0.18 with all optimization disabled, -ggdb (full
debugging information) and not stripping the binary produces a
perfectly stable build. But compiling with the default configuration
do produce an unstable executable. That is reported to work on Debian,
Mandrake and the Hurd.

The problem here is probably just the optimization flags, but I have
not investigated (yet?) with simply disabling optimization. Anyway,
using an unoptimized texmacs is generally not a good idea...

Unless proven otherwise, I will now assume that is bug with g++-3.2.
