Great. I added the following directories:

tutorial/edit
tutorial/edit/structure         (chapter II.1)
tutorial/edit/math              (chapter II.2)
tutorial/edit/motion            (chapter II.3)
tutorial/edit/style             (chapter II.4)

You should subdivide each chapter in as many files as there are sections.
For instance, you might create the following files in
tutorial/edit/structure for chapter II.1:

tut-structured-docs.en.tm
tut-select-style.en.tm
tut-sectioning.en.tm
tut-content-tags.en.tm  (change title)

as well as a traversal document

tut-structure.en.tm

The chapters I.3 and I.4 may be put directly into tutorial/start,
because this directory will not grow very much.
As to chapters II.3 and II.4: they are incomplete;
please subdivide them in an appropriate way or not at all.
If someone feels competent to finish them...

The cartoons of screenshots should be made using "centered tabulars".

No; you should use the big-figure macro for figures (which may contain
several screenshots, like in the manual on the web) and the screenshot
function for your screenshots. The screenshots should be available
in the "images/screenshots" subdirectory of the CVS root directory.
I just put language suffixes after all screenshots, so you can
now use <picture>.fr.png for the names of your screenshots.
Notice that the existing links in the translations are outdated now.

Notice that the screenshots should be made with a bit of care.
I use electric eyes, which is quite good at making screenshots and
cropping regions. It is important that the screenshot covers
exactly the window or its contents (not the surroundings).
In the case of cartoons, it is also important to use the same
widths and heights for successive images. Finally, I usually use
shrinking factor 4 (small portions of text) or 5 (large portions).
