[Texmacs-dev] What tool to use for playing videos inside TeXmacs

Hi *,

I continue with asking you guys questions...:
for the upcoming animation tools (for presentation mode),
does someone know of a good tool for embedding videos
inside applications. This requires:

1) A way to write frames to X drawables.
2) A way to obtain the length and size of a video.

I took a look at Mplayer and Xine, but they don't seem to
allow for a positive answer to the first question:
they both allow drawing to Windows, but not to arbitrary
drawables such as pixmaps ;^(((

Someone can help? The Mplayer user list does not seem
to be very interested by this matter.
