If you have your development environment setup, you can always try to update to the latest svn and compile in XCode…

Hi,

I'm afraid this could be a regression in the latest version that was recently fixed. Using the latest version from SVN and choosing the "Pinyin - simplified" chinese input method in osx I can type hanzi (however the texmacs.org server is currently down so I cannot download the chinese fonts and check whether the proper characters are inserted). I don't know about other input methods.

In case you want to check I've put the application in my dropbox. I've built it on osx 10.7.5, though, so I'm not sure it will work on your machine (and I don't have the older SDKs handy, sorry). It may also not work because of missing dependencies or whatnot. Sorry I cannot be of more help right now. Grab it here:

I hope that helps,

Thank Vincent for quick reply.

I did exactly as you mention from (1) to (10).

And while I'm typing chinese, I can see it (from the type area and status at the bottom right) but it disappears when I choose which word to type.

Dear all,

I am a chinese texmacs user.

I use texmacs 1.0.7.16 (installed via official .dmg) on Mac OSX 10.6.8.

I want to ask how to type chinese characters in texmacs.

The help document said:

kinput2 &
export LANG="ja_JP.eucJP"
export LC_ALL="ja_JP.eucJP"
export XMODIFIERS="@im=kinput2"

and Installed chinese fonts from this page:
http://www.texmacs.org/tmweb/download/fonts.en.html

So I installed fonts and added this to my *.bash_profile:*

*
*

export LANG="zh_CN.utf-8"

export LC_ALL="zh_CN.utf-8"

But I do not know how to setup XMODIFIERS, I use a input method called:

Yahoo! KeyKey.app (is under /Library/Input Methods)

export address@hidden

What is ???...Sorry if it's naive.

Thanks a lot.

Regards,

Hi
we've posted a message soon about this subject but the message was very more na?ve than your
this is it :
-----------------------------------------
we have done this protocole, with TeXmacs 1.0.7.16 (installed via official .dmg) on Mac OSX 10.6.8
--------
0) leave TeXmacs if open
1) open app "applications/utilities/terminal"
2) type sudo mkdir ~/.TeXmacs
3) open browser at :
http://www.texmacs.org/tmweb/download/fonts.en.html#fonts-cjk
4) find the link "Tarball with Chinese fonts (6.8 Mb)."
right click on it
5) select "download under"
5bis) in the Finder, menu "go" choose "go to folder..." and type ~/.TeXmacs
this opens this  invisible folder (created by 2) in a Finder's window
move this window to one side of your screen so to have both windows, this one and the browser's one, next to each other
6) grad and drop folder  "~/.TeXmacs" from Finder to the record-window of the browser
7) come back to Terminal
8) type gunzip -c TeXmacs-chinese-fonts.tar.gz | tar xvf -
9) launch TeXmacs. click on the flag and select 'chinese'
10) in the menu bar of mac os X, choose your usual chinese entry mode
for example Zhuyin, Pinyin, Cangjie, Jianye, Dayi Pro...
normally you can type chinese now - with some of these entry modes
--------
The r?sult is :
Il seem that I can write chinese words but they disappear since they are typed...
----
so if you find anything we are interested.

Vincent
