Not necessarily. /bin/sh can be a link to any shell, like /bin/bash.
More recent Tramp versions try to cure such problems in the background,
if they know which shell is invoked. /bin/sh doesn't provide such
information, /bin/bash gives Tramp a better ground to handle. See
